Castle Mountain Reflections

This was taken at sunrise on the last morning of my recent trip to the Canadian Rockies. It was snowing up the road in Lake Louise, and you can see the dark clouds to the left, but they were breaking up over Castle Mountain. We arrived early and I waited for another car to arrive before I went down to the shoreline to make sure I could find a spot with a reflection. I had to set up my tripod very low to get the scene I'd envisioned.

Any thoughts are welcome.

Hey Kyle,

Wow, this is really super cool! That reflection is awesome and that fresh snow is so cool. I sure hope I can get up to the Banff area before all of the great photos have been taken!

Very nice - I like the tint of color in the high clouds and the tip of sunlight on the top peaks. Add in the clean piles of fresh snow and the reflection and this looks like a serious wall hanger.

What a beautiful (and chilling) winter scene. The reflection and tiny bit of light on the mountain really puts it over the top. Love the snow muffins on the fg rocks as well.

Excellent work, Kyle. This is as dramatic a shot as I have ever seen from this super location, with the marching sky over the great wintery rock, boulders and snow-clad trees - classic Canadian Rockies in winter!
