I don’t know how you managed it Jeff, but you almost made this spider look cute! I hate spiders, but this guy seems kind of friendly.

Now I don't suggest going and handling some Black Widows or Brown Recluses, but most spiders are pretty darn harmless. Even those venomous ones will only most likely bite if they feel that they can't escape. :)

But these jumpers are all fun!

Easy to spot your ring flash - 4 times over :)

You are making me start thinking about a dedicated macro lens again. Once upon a time I had a bellows attachment for my old Pentax SP500 35mm but it went away along with all of my old thread mount lenses when I upgraded my camera body in the late 80's. The bellows attachment was fun for extreme closeups.

I love the little jumping spiders, they are the cutest spiders out there. Others I don't like so much hahahah. Great shot of him!

You can tell it's a ring flash for sure too by the shape of the catchlights!:D I'm not sure which platform you shoot but the Tokina 100mm f/2.8 is a helluva steal at the price. Couple that with a diffused off-camera flash or a ring flash and you're golden. The Yongnuo ring flash was WAY cheaper than the Canon ($100 vs $500) and does an excellent job.

Excellent shot Jeff!
Thanks Greg!!

Love the image and the caption!
I appreciate the kind words, lightsgood!:)

Jeff, I had no idea you were so versatile or prolific. This is great.
Thanks Ben! I like to dabble in a little bit of everything. Makes you always have something to take pics of!:D

Cheers Darcy! These guys are really fun. I've got some other shots of orb weavers and the like that come *way* more menacing. Still neat tho!
