Chapel A or Chapel B?

This is a tough choice John.

Both of these work for me, but in the end I think I lean towards #2 the B&W just a bit more over the sepia of #1.

Thanks Ben and Alan.

Normally I'm not a big fan of sepia. I first processed the color photo in Lightroom. I then went to ON1 and tried a lot of presets and filters. I went through all the B&W ones and didn't find anything that really grabbed me. When I tried a sepia filter I felt like the image really came to life. Everything about the contrast fell into place better with the sepia filter. So I went with it, brought it back to LR and made minor adjustments.

I've had the sepia for a few days now. Then a thought occurred to me. Since the image resided in Lightroom in it's sepia form, why not just use LR to turn it B&W? I merely clicked to make the switch and ended up with the B&W you see here.

While I do like the resulting B&W, I still seem to favor the sepia. Maybe that will change over more time. I do seem to change my mind about photos over time. Guess I'll find out. :)

I'd also prefer #2, though both look great.

Btw, the images are too large for me to view entirely, which makes it more difficult to appreciate them.

Thanks Carlo. I'm not sure why they showed up that size. I thought the forum resizes them. I probably should have linked to them from my smugmug site rather than upload from my computer. That's what happens when you take the lazy way out late at night. ;-)

Hey John, the forum does downsize them to 1200 pix on their long edge if they are bigger then that when uploaded. With 1200 pix on the long edge of a vertical, it will normally be too tall for most monitor screens to fit in. Now with horizontal photos for obvious reasons 1200 pix when it's laid horizontal they usually fit fine. So some people purposely make sure on Verticals that they downsize them to 800 pix on the long edge before they upload them.
