We spent a few days in La Jolla, California recently. I made my first visit to the Scripps Pier. Will certainly have to go again and try for a more colorful sky! The town has some very good food establishments!

I like this view down the lines of the columns. Fortuitous inclusion of the surfer dude looking for his next ride. I like the feeling of depth in the scene better with the color version.

Very cool Tex! Great positioning with the surfer. La Jolla is a really great place to visit and photograph. I was going to do a travel video there when I was in California last month, it will have to wait until I am back in April.

One suggestion would be to remove that lens flare on the left pillar. Should be an easy clone job even since the pillar is a single color with no real defined texture in it.

Oh... and I think I prefer the B&W, that view is a classic view that lends itself to the classic feel of B&W.

I am wondering if the "lens flare" Jim was referring to was not lichen or paint on the column...

Amy - Yes, I did ask him to pose. He was going to walk through the scene, so I asked him to pose for a minute. Jim is correct, I believe, that is lens flare that needs to be eliminated. Rookie mistake = Jim will not let me hear the end of it, any time soon!
