Christmas tree nebula

Merry Christmas to all. I thought this was a good nebula for the Christmas season. This one was a hard one to process in the Hubble palette. I went for more greenish Christmas tree look.

This is perfect and so appropriate Chuck! The greenish look is great.

With so many of us here taking our long lenses out this last week to capture the conjunction, it feels like we have a whole slew of budding astrophotographers here. So a Christmas Tree nebula is more then fitting.

Jameel, This was taken with my old Canon Rebel xt without filters so this is how it would look in natural spectrum. The image I posted first was taken with narrow band filters using the Hubble palette. I did processs it to be more greenish because of the name.

Like both versions, of course the narrowband is really mostly just up to artistic desires on the colors, but the green certainly works for this time of year, and of course, in the Hubble palette the Hα is green in any case. Cool images!
