Coastal colors

While I was exploring possible shots for Thursday's silhouette theme I came across an unprocessed scene from a sunrise at Harris Beach State Park from 2018 that looked promising. I gave it a trim job to a panorama frame with a lot of empty sand down in front. Click through for a more detailed view.

C&C always welcome.

The more I look at this image (and I can't stop looking), Alan I see another image that might also be stunning. Crop some off of the right side and make the rocks more the main point of interest. Either way it is a fantastic image.

I actually did shoot several images with a crop similar to what you describe not long after I shot this one. One of them has a large wave breaking over the isolated rock on the right while still including the rocks in the left. Not quite as colorful as this moment during the sunrise color show but I will work that one up for another post sometime. I have hundreds of sunrise images from this same beach and worry about the repetition of posting too many of them

I don't care how many you post I will still look at them and like them.

Nice capture and crop—well done.
Thanks John.

So there is color at the beach up there! :)

What a great find Alan from your archives.
Thanks Jim - there are gray days in December down along that part of the coastline but when the conditions are right the color shows can be incredible. I have posted dozens of sunrises from there but still have hundreds more from that beach on colorful mornings.

Alan, that’s pretty stunning, I wouldn’t worry too much about posting to many of that view I’m with Doug I would not get tired of seeing that . Beautiful job with this one the color and reflection are incredible. The pano crop works extremely well it keeps me completely engaged.

Great capture, great light. The crop is just right!
Thanks Dan.

Very nice. How did you miss processing this?
Thanks Jameel - I got about 60 shots with some seriously nice color that morning and picked out a few for processing and posting. This one didn't make the first cut.

The clouds are perfect for drawing the eye in to the space between the rocks. And color to boot! The crop emphasizes those lines.

Thanks Monika - the V shape in the clouds is what caught my eye for composing this shot. Carving out the blank sand at the bottom was almost a no-brainer.
