Coyote Hunting Voles

While the trip to Yosemite had scarce landscape opportunities, we did get a demonstration of coyotes huning for voles

Sensory/Acoustic guided missile

Flying body-landing

Successful lunch acquisition

The next three are the typical form for vole hunting

This coyote scored 3 for 4 attempts. Not sure how many are required for a meal

I only had my 200 w/TC. So about 280mm. I did crop for better viewing as the 5D MkII has enough mp

Sadly, they are pretty habituated to humans. They would stroll within 10 yards sometimes

Good shots! I've seen this several times but never had the opportunity to photograph it. You've inspired me to go look for some Coyotes.
