Deception Pass

My wife and I spent a night at Deception Pass state park breaking in our new truck-camper. After a leisurely breakfast in the warmth of the camper (the best upgrade from our old van for Debbie) we went for a nice walk down to the beach. I just slipped my iPhone 11 Pro into my pocket instead of hauling my big camera. When I got there I was wishing I had the Sony, but am pretty happy with the phone's shots too. All taken through PS & Silver FX.

I am sure you guys are enjoying the new camper a lot.

You got some very nice shots here, the B&W is great and I think #1 and4 are my favorites.

Are you guys going to be on the road for a bit?

We really should have a get together with all of you guys up in Washington sometime.

Nice way to break in your new rig. Having a heated space to come back into after cold weather wanderings is a really nice way to go.

I like shots #4 and #5. The first one looks like it has some halos behind the branch tips - possibly a bit strong on the clarity slider?

Thanks for the comments guys. You are right Alan, my first B&W conversion had even more pronounced halos so I redid it, but can still see them. It's a combo of red filter and clarity that's the culprit. Not the most important picture to me since it's just an iPhone shot, so won't bother redoing it again.

A NW meetup would be fun Jim. Not this time of year though!

I have had several iPhone 11 Pro shots that seem to be more sensitive to what happens when you grab the clarity slider and lots of others that work fine. As you said that image is a pocket camera snapshot and not a large wall print master It's still a neat shot and I would have gone for it too.

My travels this time of year are exclusively coastal destinations. I know of some folks who winterize their RVs and then take them up to the ski resorts with their plumbing systems shut down but that's not my cup of tea at all. Even down in the lowlands we can run into marginal temperatures for not draining our water systems.

Alan, our camper is one of the better 4 season rigs with a heated basement so the water systems don't freeze. My friends who take theirs up skiing just keep the heater going all the time.
