Desert Colors

Another look at the Red Cliffs Natural Preserve, in Red Rock Canyon, CA. This time mid-morning on the 14th Dec, on my way to Lone Pine and points north.
I got a bit farther removed out into the desert for this take. Mesquite, Joshua Tree, sage and sand in the foreground.
A mostly cloudy morning lent a nice soft light to the scene.
C&c weldome.

I like it - even if Jim says this image encompasses the whole park :)

The elevation is just high enough for the joshua trees but still low enough for the creosote.

To be fair, there aren't a whole lot of other areas as photogenic as this, but they are out there if you look!
Thanks for looking in, Alan.

I hate to say this, but back in the 1970's I rode dirt bikes here. I hope we did not mess it up too bad. It is a nice area.
It is a quite striking area, isolated from the rest of the rather drab desert of the region. There are lots of tracks designated for ORV's so I think you're safe.

Oh, I forgot to mention.....this was with the 24mm TS-E, aiming down for the creosote and using the tilt for max dof. Not perfect at full res, but passable for an early attempt I think.
