Dinosaur Track

Probably the second or third most photographed scene up in Canyonlands. Still, I am trying to get out more and "Start over" with my landscape photography. So it is where I ended up. By the time I got there, I had limited time and the light is now also becoming much better than a month ago. So am trying to practice with the new camera too. What you don't see is the blowing bitter wind as the storm cleared out. What you also didn't see were tons of tourists, as there were basically none. The Mesa Arch parking lot was 100% empty, you don't see that every day.

Whoa - and you think we have BIGFOOT up here in the NW? Would this be LargeFoot instead? :D

I like the distant storm with the dusting of snow at higher elevations.

I love those canyons and have called them dinosaur tracks myself. I need to rouse myself for a winter trek someday. Seems like March is about as early as I ever get out there.

That is a very cool shot Craig! I like what you got. It's been really cold down here in New Mexico too. It's not fun to shoot like that, but yeah, it really cuts down on the people there.

Spectacularly dark and moody shot, Craig! It must be sheer delight to see these places without the crowds - as we always used to be able to do, before the internet and the cellphone!

It is a little dark isn't it Martin?
Didn't seem quit as dark last night when I was processing. It seems that happens once in a while.

Very clever Craig. I never thought of this view looking like the foot print of a dinosaur but it fits perfectly. I hope you continue to have a great time in Canyonlands N.P.

One of my favorite places, Craig. I usually like to see all the pinnacles in the finger canyons, but I guess it wouldn't look quite so much like a dino track then.

I often have that problem, looks great late at night and then the next day, "What was I thinking!"
I don't think you went to dark with this, it's the land of shadows.
