I knew nothing about Longhorns, so I found it interesting.

Interesting breed and a nice shot of this one. Nice article although obviously incomplete since they never mentioned the highly valuable use of the horns on the front of your car. 
So cool Monika! You are making the most of your time with cows. Having grown up in Minnesota I was totally familiar with cows, having milked them, and even tried to ride them.... So when I would read stories as a child about the Longhorn cows, I was always amazed. And what's funny, is even though you see a picture or a picture is painted while reading, nothing can really prepare you for just how odd they look, and just how really wide those horns are.

It's kind of strange that the long horns make them look so wild, even ferocious, but when you look at the rest of them, they just look like, well, cows. I've definitely been places where there were rumors of some particular steer being really mean & one wanted to not cross the pasture when he was out, but these seem pretty domesticated. When I looked out this evening, there was somebody out there with a micro 2/3 camera shooing them away from the area right behind my house. I thought, wow, maybe I could get a shot of them chasing this guy.........then I realized that 1) he seemed to know what he was doing and 2) he was a patient of mine who used to own that 30 acres. And the cows just moved along in the direction he was shooing them (towards his house).

A fantastic image Monika. It is hard to imagine carrying those around all the time.
