Dragon's Den

Y'all Westerners have probably seen this a million times, but for an East Coast dude it was a pretty amazing experience! C&C welcome as always.:)

The formation coming in from the top just looks like a grinning dragon to my eyes. The rocks below could be treasure or perhaps the remains of the unfortunate ones to meet their demise at his hands.

Or something:D

That looks like Lower Antelope Canyon :)

I like the nice B&W you worked this scene with - I have seen far too many images of this place that look nothing like the canyon itself because of overcooked processing. This is refreshing.

Dingdingding! Wife and I visited AZ in 2015 and got to go through Lower Antelope with just us and the guide, so I got to really have fun moving about the slots without worrying about getting in other people's shots or vice versa. It was the "photographer's tour", so a DSLR and tripod were required. I set the wife up with the 7D2, 24-70 and a backup tripod with full Auto on everything and let her go town. We both had an absolute BLAST and can't wait to return. Coyote Buttes was also a memorable experience! I took one of her nicer shots and had it printed and framed as gift for her.

Thanks for the kind words! No need to process too heavily as this place is just naturally gorgeous.:)

Really nice b&w! Excellent tonal range!
Thanks Barry! I know everyone (myself included) love the wonderful reds/oranges/browns that this place has, but I think I was wired differently and really gravitate towards tonality/texture/lines.

Simple mind, simple pleasure.:D

Really good Slot canyon, I have never been but have seem plenty.
Cheers Ben! I figure someone as yourself would have one of the room named after him from spending so much time here, but I guess you are more of a 'vista' type of dude. Go big or go home, right?:)

Really nice B&W processing as the canyon provides a wide array of textures and tones. A welcome change from the color versions.

I appreciate the very kind words, Jameel! I am a sucker for B&W and I hope you guys don't get tired of it.:) I've managed to sway @Ben Egbert a few times, and I know that he's a nut for color.:D

Hey Jeff, What awesome swirls of shapes and tones! You took Antelope Canyon to a whole other level. B&W is a great way to pull all of those tones out.

Thank you, Jim! The amount of beauty out West is simply staggering. I love the East (which has its fair share of beauty), but the left side of this country is just outta this world.
