Dreaming

I was out with the grandkids at the Rocky Mountain Arsenal Wilderness area to get some photos of Bison and other animals, but I came across this scene that I really liked. To me it has a bit of a dreamscape feel to it.

That floating cloud is what makes this image for me. The processing adds to the dreamy feel.
Thanks Jameel! Yeah, when I saw that cloud, I had to capture it.

As for the processing, this is essentially straight out of the camera. One of those rare magical scenes where it all comes together for you.

I hesitate to say it but here goes: crop the near bank off and this adds to the minimalism and shifts your eye upwards to that beautiful cloud. I see what you mean about bright de-saturated blues. Ken

Thanks Ken, I appreciate the suggestion, and no need to hesitate. I had actually thought that the darker area there was grabbing the eye a bit. I had thought about using a layer mask and seeing if I can cleanly recover the shadows there to even out the bottom area in terms of brightness.

I have a few more dead trees with pale blue skies from that trip I need to process. I am not sure why those conditions appealed to me, especially the "dead" brown of the tree's as normally dead looking bare trees like that are a turn off. But for some reason the tan of the ground seemed really appealing combined with the pale blue sky.
