Eagle Nebula

Here is my Eagle Nebula. Cathy says it's not quite Hubble, and I tell her I didn't spend a Billion dollars either ! You decide
Also called M16, it's in the constellation Serpens. This is a tricolor pic with red=hydrogen, sulfur=green, and oxygen =blue. About two hours for each filter.
This is my first time trying a couple of additional techniques to try and better control star size and star halos. I think the new tricks are working !

Awesome, really awesome Eagle Nebula shot. It's so good, had you said this was from Hubble data, I would have believed you. So your new techniques are for sure paying off!

Well that's a wonderful result. I like the HSO palette results you have presented here. Very nice colors and detail with some tight stars, so those new processing techniques are working out for sure. You have extracted very nice fine detail with your setup - remind me again which camera/telescope combo you are using?

I have been using the ZWO ASI 1600 MM Pro and the Stellarvue SVX 130 apo at 910 fl.
I used the color mask script to get about where I wanted the colors to be and then added the Ha master back in as a lum. I did HDRMT, Localhistogramequilization, unsharp mask, and Dark structure enhance. Then added the stars back in.
Makes me tired just thinking about it. Was watching a Hallmark movie with my wife

Very good - sounds like we have some of the same processing steps in our typical workflow. I have not used the Colormask script extensively as I usually go into Photoshop for yanking the palette around, but I am familiar with it.

Even more similar might be the gear, as I also image with the same camera and a Stellarvue refractor, although not one as nice as that - I use a 100mm SVQ100.

I like the 2nd version a bit better too, you have pulled out a little more contrast in some of the subtle structures on that version.
