Eagles View

Out at Barr Lake in Colorado, while I was mainly shooting birds I wanted to get a few landscapes in showing the Rocky Mountains in the background.

The Eagles Nest you see has been there since like 1983 I think, you will see a Bald Eagle guarding and several other eagles in the trees around it.

This was with the Tamron 150-600mm G2 at 450mm at f8.

All comments are welcome,

Jim

This is a good distance to view nesting eagles if you want them there next year. Nice image.

Nice image. I didn't know about the history of the nests. That's pretty neat. The number of nests out there is kinda crazy.

As a known nest is someone tracking which eagles are using the nest? Is it a pair that returns or random inhabitants year to year?

Yep, this is a real nature center and it was Bald Eagle weekend with lots of extra exhibits and stuff. So according to volunteers out at the gazebo I shot this from, it is the same pair that uses it each year. And also one of the pair is always there guarding the nest against encroaching eagles.

Thanks Ben. This looked to be a small island out in the lake, so that is going to help keeping people at a distance from that one.
