Early March in the Gorge

Great image Alan.
Thanks Ben - I liked the view from this spot when I was looking at some of the pano sequences I still haven't processed from March visits up the Gorge. I actually shot a wider sequence in this case but liked the less is more view with these two panels.

Wow Alan. I have to say, this doesn't look like the Columbia River Gorge. It actually reminds me of some views in Alaska.

Maybe it's the snow that makes it look different? If it is, you need to get more captures of this area in the future when there is snow.

Thanks Jim - I actually have quite a few with the snow I haven't processed yet. While it does snow up there during the winter months it rarely sticks around for long since the river in this area is no more than about 10' above sea level. Below the Bonneville Dam the Columbia River has tidal flows.

Nice view and atmospherics for this image. Doesn’t look like a drone perspective.
Thanks Jameel - not much of a view at all from ground level in this area. That's one of the reasons I have been taking so many images up the Gorge with drones - I am getting views I never had from the ground :)

Thanks Beth - this is why I fly. I have lived within 40 minutes of where I launched to shoot this for 25 years now and can say there is nowhere on the ground that compares with the views from the air. I am getting to shoot the gorge from a whole new point of view.
