Its early morning and the poppies are still sleeping in this image, but they are so plentiful that they show up as an orange carpet. If you wait until they are fully open the light becomes too harsh.
There is nothing like Spring in the Desert when we have a Super Bloom, Alan. This was from a couple of years ago.The orange carpet is quite the contrast to the usual drab colors of the desert floor.
Thanks so much, Jim. I'm looking forward t seeing your Antelope Valley images. The orange carpet is awesome Doug and doesn't distract away from the image at all. I like how you positioned the Saguaro, it's one of my favorite desert plants.
The pano crop works perfect here.
Thanks a lot, Ben.Great color here Douglas.
They start closing up about four o'clock, Monika so you can't get the elegant light with them, but they are so beautiful they can still carry an image. The best situation is a slight high cirrus cloud overcast to even out the contrast like this one.Do they stay open late enough for an evening shot?
Carpets of wildflowers........I think I remember those?![]()
That is pretty spectacular, Doug! They start closing up about four o'clock, Monika so you can't get the elegant light with them, but they are so beautiful they can still carry an image. The best situation is a slight high cirrus cloud overcast to even out the contrast like this one.
