Fake IR

I admit it, it's Fake!

Well... Amy's IR work is so inspiring, and while I don't have an IR camera yet, I do have IR envy. So while I was converting this one to B&W for Friday's Focus, I thought to myself, this looks like one I could do a False IR look on in the conversion.

I think it kind of looks like IR. What do you guys think?

Thanks Ben, it was pretty easy to do. Using the B&W converter in Photoshop, I just slid the Yellow and Green sliders all the way to the right.

Not bad but not quite as much drama in the skies as I would want with IR. The ground level stuff looks close to IR images I have seen.

Lol...in a messed up kind of way. Pretty close, but in the real IR it seems like the tones meld together a more smoothly.

I thought the tones in IR were more harsh? And they contrasted more? Maybe I have been looking at IR the wrong way?

There is no substitute for the Real Thing(TM)

Thanks Alan. I could have pushed the sky more, but I was happy with the way it looked in here, the blues turned dark enough I thought.
