Fall New England Mushrooms

A lot of mushrooms come up in the fall. The first one is a puffball and the second one is a scale cap.

The puffballs look really neat nestled in amongst the reds of the leaves. The color in the scale caps is notable - I rarely stumble into a set of mushrooms like that that are all intact like these.

I don't usually stumble into in tact mushrooms either. Someone has usually chomped on them.
