Looks like you had enough cloud cover to make for some decent light here. I like the subject and processing. I would prefer the top limbs did not go out of the frame.

I like the overcast lighting too since it's so much nicer for color and depth. Interesting to think about how long that piece of wood has been eroding.

What a cool find with that old tree. I am with Ben, I wish that top branch hadn't been cut off. It's still pretty nice but that cut off branch takes it down just a hair.

Have you thought about a B&W on this? Somethings old trees shots like this look great in B&W.

Ben, Alan, Jim, I agree completely with the comments. The reason I ended up cutting that branch was because I hot this with a 50mm lens, if I go to my next lens 35mm the perspective changes beg time (mountains and dunes will appear far and smaller) I did some edits on the same picture, here it is. thanks for the suggestions.
