LOL, now that's the truth!.
A few years back I was driving up in that area of the Rockies on the I-70 at night. It had snowed, the road was icy. There was very cars driving on the road and everyone was driving maybe 20mph on the freeway. In front of my maybe 100 feet in front of me, a car towing a trailer started going back and forth as the trailer was sliding all over the place. I took my foot off the gas and slowed down even more. Luckily I didn't hit it. But that was the event where I decided I just wasn't going to drive the 70 in the winter time anymore. Because I could control what I was doing, but it was the others around me that I couldn't control.
So now, no matter what time of year it is, if I am thinking on taking the 70 to head from Colorado to California, I check the weather reports, I look at the freeway cams they have, I look at the traffic reports long and hard before I decide I will try the 70. And many times I like, and I decide the 80 is a better option or the 25 down to the 40.
