Jim Saw this on Facebook and suggested I start a post for all of you guys and gals to pile on. I was not sure where to put it, but in this case 1954 fits historical pretty well.


Maybe some of you remember the whizzer motor bike. What would be better would be a Cushman Eagle or better yet a Mustang.

But post anything ya got fro your youth.

Great one, I remember Reds meadows, and I am sure I have been there, but forget where, is this up in the southern part of the Sierras?

Edit, Now I remember, it's by Devils Post Pile. I was there about 1954 on a YMCA campout.

Red's Meadow was our regular vacation spot from the mid 50's through the mid 60's. Some years we'd back-pack up into the high country to Minaret Lake or Garnet Lake and Thousand Island Lake. I really miss those trips!

I spent many years going to the Eastern Sierras in the 50's, 60's and 70's before moving to N. Idaho. Great country and I still mist it. My most common camp ground was on the road to Rock Creek Lake, or up McGee Creek. My how they have improved the roads since then when I visited 3 years ago. Even 395 has been re-routed.
