for around my home on Long Island , temps don't get to low often. We had a nice cold spell a week ago and I did my best to capture the feeling to my best ability. with the wind chill the temps were Between -8 to -13 Deg F durring the day. Of course I don't have a good set of gloves to feel the buttons on the camera, so 15 miniutes of shooting and back to the car to stop my hands from hurting. well anyway all C&C welcomed!

Wow - that just screams COLD. I have to chuckle over the sign in #3 for no swimming. Hard to choose a favorite but the first one keeps me coming back for another look. Thanks for sharing so we can appreciate the cold view from our computer monitors with warm fingers.

Hey Joe,

Pretty good work here. That sure looks pretty frozen!

I think my favorite is #1, though I really like #3 with that sign as like who would or could even swim? :)

I am really picky with my flares. I like how you worked the sun in them, but if they were mine I would clean up the stray spots around the flares, but I know I get picky on my own. You could also try a different crop on a couple of them where you crop right under the ball of the sun, leaving some flares radiating down into the photo still to give the appearance of the bright sun. Because the first 3 all have the sun looking very similar (which isn't necessarily a bad thing) but by cropping under the ball of the sun on maybe one of them, it breaks up the look between them all too. If it was mine, it would be the 3rd one I would try that on as the sun's position balances well with the sign.

Anyway, good work all around. While I am boiling to death here in Socal, I can't even imagine ice and snow like this! :)

I totaly over looked the sun flare. Opps. I don'y know how much I can do because of where they are though. I wish the lens hood was longer for that lens. I do like that suggestion of just under the sun, I have to try that. Thank you Jim
