Glacier NP

Thinking of a trip to Glacier sometime after the 3rd week in June. My only trip there was no so productive a couple of years ago. The weather was just grey and rainy throughout.

How is late june or mid july in this area? Are the peaks mostly devoid of snow?

Go too early and the road to the sun will be closed.

I would definitely not go the 3rd week in June. Change it to the 3rd week in July and you will have better conditions. In June areas like Logan's Pass will still have snow, the meadows will be covered and there won't be any wildflowers. I have gone the first week in July and still had snow, so my go to date is the 3rd week in July. I possibly will be there a little later this year, the 1st week in Aug. But my plans are still just being formulated.

Good info Jim (and Ben). Last time I went was in Sept and ran into rain and overcast skies. I'll plan late July/early Aug now. Perhaps Yosemite in Late June/early July.

What are you looking to shoot in Yosemite? Are you thinking late June early July so you can get up into Tuolomne Meadows?

Haven't planned out yet Jim. In addition to the meadows I'd do some of usual places incl. the valley itself. Never shot from Glacier Point (the pass was closed when I visited) either.
