Glass art

Chihuly Glass Musuem in Seattle is an interesting place. It features glass art by artist Chihuly. I had the opportunity to visit this recently. I am not much of a museum person, but a guest visiting wanted to see so I can took her there. Wasn't prepared for what I saw - should have taken my DSLR and lenses. Instead had to do with the RX100 I carried. Needless to say I will go again and try to capture this. The images below give an idea of the visual imagery one can capture there.

All these are very high ISO images hand held. Tripods are not allowed and the lighting is appropriate for glowing glass.

Comments are always welcome.

These are really great! You did a good job capturing them. What really crazy glass there.

Nice shots. I had a similar experience, my wife and sister in-law went and loved it, then gave me a birthday present admission. I wasn't too psyched, but I did bring my NEX-7. Was blown away by the photo possibilities in such a small museum. I've been back a second time with out of town friends and recommend arriving in the afternoon so you can shoot outdoors in sunlight, shoot inside at any time, have dinner in the museum restaurant ($$ but good), then go back outside to shoot sunset and after dark. They do allow monopods.
