Upon arriving to Glacier at roughly noon, we drove the Going to the Sun Road as my son has a friend who lives in the Whitefish area. It would serve as our last real bed before setting out to Bowman Lake to start our adventure. At his friend's house, we were able to make final decisions on what to pack or leave behind, load up our packs and be ready for the morning and the next six days.
On our way there, we enjoyed the trip across the park, stopping along the way. While the haze/smoke from wildfires was evident, it was not as bad as it had been the previous days (so I am told). While not ideal lighting conditions (midday), the views were fantastic and the crowds small since we were past Labor Day. Some of these images were a struggle to process due to haze, harsh shadows from the midday sun. I had a polarizer on my 24-205/4 lens and my limited experience using a polarizer made processing a bit more laborious.
Anyway, here are a few images from Day Zero!
