This is from the archive and as I look at it, I can see how my newer gear and processing would help this image, but alas, over 20 years of visiting this place, this is the only time it looked like this.

The only bad part about having deep archives of images - knowing what you could do with that same scene/light with your current gear/tech.

Nothing wrong about enjoying what you were able to grab at the time. This one looks like a nice reminder of what you have been able to experience along the way.

Hey Ben,

This is really nice! What cool light with the way the sun was bursting through there.

A good reminder too about how fleeting light can be. Sometimes it pops up for mere moments, never to be seen again.

That's so right, my best scenes were usually shot with inferior gear and skill.

yes, it is, ya just have to be there and go back, but seldom do you get another chance as good as that one time.

Nice one Ben. It is so interesting to look back through the archives and imagine what you could do at the same scene with current gear- and isn't it frustrating to go back and never have the same light or drama again?

So true Martin, at least I am able to use my current post processing and newest printer to work these old images. Some of them still respond fairly well.
