Going the Distance

There are wide desert valleys between each of the mountain ridges seen here in the Mojave Desert. I wildly guess that this view is 25 miles long. Sometimes you don't see a view like this unless you are on a higher ground than the rest of the scene. Here, I was using my drone to extend the view by gaining elevation. And it's the first image using the secondary telephoto lens on my Mavic 3. That camera uses a smaller sensor than the main camera on the drone. It allowed me to reach out, as this scene was quite a distance off.

Great layers and some lovely colors. Did you shoot this as a panorama sequence?

I find that lens addictive for what it lets me go see that is beyond my flight range. It has issues if you have to face into direct sunlight and a CPL doesn't help.

That 2 lens system on the Mavic is really a great benefit. It makes me wish I had that on my drone, but I don't use it enough to justify that price.
