Got Moss?

A shot from a rainy day drive into the headwaters of the North Fork Cape Creek in the Siuslaw National Forest. As you might have guessed I am a serious fan of the moss that envelopes the trees in the coastal rain forests.

Thanks Ben - glad I made the trek up into these mountains in the rainy season to see the moss in its full colors. This could be somewhat drab during the dry summer months.

Thanks Jim - hugging the moss might be a bit of a squishy experience at the moment. Things are distinctly damp up here at the moment.

Thnx - wear good rain gear for that hug. Most of my shots from that day show the water dripping off of the moss

Thanks - winter is the best time for the moss. The moss turns yellow in the summer when it's dry here and then comes back into greens during the winter months. Overcast skies or shooting in the rain gives the best light. This was in between showers.

Rain forest in the rain is an experience. Shooting with trying to keep your gear dry is a challenge.

Thanks Jameel - on really rainy days I drive on the back roads and get out to shoot instead of hiking around. Take along a good towel however
