Got Salt?

An icon from Death Valley. I have seen images of better crystalline structures on the surface of Badwater but nothing like that was to be found when I visited. Some sunrise colors helped to ease my disappointment with the lake bed surface.

Very nice Alan. I like the shape of these. My least favorite is when they all get upturned and fractured at the edges. If you didn't get the classic edges, these ones are the next best ones to have in my book. I like that reflected color too. Nice work.

Thanks. We had to walk almost 1/2 mile out onto the salt to find this area that didn't have the upturned edges and even here you can see a few of those just beyond where I set up. I used my TS-E tilt function to bring the focus as close as I could get.
