Green Chaos

I came across this scene along the Rim Trail in Silver Falls State Park. The scene is somewhat chaotic but I decided to shoot it anyway as it seemed to have it's own sense of order in the madness. Fall colors fighting it out with the deep greens that prevail along the western slopes of the Cascades.

C&C always welcome.

Hey Alan, scenes like this are incredibly hard to find order in. But you nailed it here I think. It's crazy how those area's in the rainforest or even regular forests can be visually beautiful to view as one walks or hikes through them, but to capture them with a camera is a whole other story. It's amazing I think how our eyes and brains can filter out and selection sections that then become to visually pleasing to us, but the camera can't do that as it captures everything. But here you found one opening, area that is just beautifully ordered.

I love that hue of green Alan. So I am showing you this image taken in the springtime in Vermont and the hue of green is very similar.

Many thanks for the feedback. Never quite sure if my view of the rainforest is a successful interpretation of the place.

When I first saw the Pacific NW forests just over 20 years ago it was love at first sight. That was with a (film) camera in hand but I only now feel like I really know how to spot a scene that my camera can capture. The trails at Silver Falls in overcast skies were magical the day I shot this. 90% of what I saw on that hike had to simply be absorbed by my eyeballs.
