Here's wishing you and your families a very Happy and Peaceful New Year.

I invite you to post a photo that, in your experience, evoked a feeling of peace to you. This photo was taken this past June at Andrews Bald in the Smoky Mountains. The Flame Azaleas were blooming, it was quiet, with only the sound of birds and breeze; the few hikers present all talked in a murmur, seeming to share my reluctance to break the sanctity of the silence.

This is an image I took in Maroon Valley near Aspen on a cold fall morning that was windless and cloudy. Happy New year to all on Focus World.

I took this back when I used to work out in the middle of nowhere 18 miles southeast of La Sal. Always liked this one. The end of the day, a long relaxing ride home. That job was one of the main reasons I got into photography. Rather than suffering from seasonal affective disorder during the winter months I wanted to make the most of the morning and evening since I'd go out in the dark and come back in the dark.
