Harbor Sunset

My area is not doing well with the Corona Virus and I am making do with what I can shoot like this nearby harbor. The background buildings block most of the color after sunset. To compensate I try to leave the sun like it is in this picture. I end up really under exposing the foreground and bringing it back in post processing. All of that was to explain the fun part. I finally found banding from the Nikon sensor all the early reviews complained about. And when I print the picture, a 12 x 18 isn't big enough to show the banding. I think most of those reviews need a better perspective.

Beautiful image and well thought out. I agree, I used to read all the pixel peepers on other forums, this one is dedicated to good results.

Pretty cool indeed Tim! I think it's great that all of us probably got out to the extent that we could during the Coronavirus. That's a pretty cool looking harbor.

Which Nikon is it that you shot this with?

Thank you Jim. I shoot this with the Z7.
The Z7 is supposed to be really cool!

Does it have an optical view finder or a EVF?

I have never used Liveview ever, until now with my Deep Space Astro it's coming in handy a little bit. So I have started to think about the Z7, or maybe it's successor since I use the D850.

The Z7 has an EVF. I got it as the step up from my D810. I am really happy with it. I have 2 native lenses, the 24-70 f4 and the 14-30 f4. The 24-70 is easily an equivalent to my old 24-70 f2.8. The 14-30 f4 blows away every wide angle lens I have used. The FTZ adapter takes Nikon lenses well, but is a frustration with the 3rd party lenses I tried.

I also picked up a Z50 as a backup. Great little camera but I just am spoiled with full frame for landscape.
