Heather Lake

I was lucky to teach at Mountain Way Elementary School in Granite Falls WA for 22 years. My principals were very cooperative in letting me leave early to do my wellness activity - as the P.E. teacher for 18 of those years my mantra to my students was, "Go outside and play!" so I had to set the example. Just out of town is the beautiful Mountain Loop Hwy with a wealth of outdoor adventure which I take full advantage of. This short and sweet hike is one of the closest to town, so I could head up there after work if I hiked fast. On many mid-week autumn afternoons I had the whole lake to myself, which is quite a contrast to summer weekends now when there can be cars clogging the dirt road leading to the parking lot.

Those reflections are almost mind bending - especially in #1 and #3. I like that third image a lot - vivid colors and a mirror for a water surface.

That is a very cool looking lake! I like them all, but I think that last one which has an abstract feel jumps out to me the most.
