Horseshoe Canyon Reflexion

Thanks for the comments guys. Ben, Horseshoe is about an hour drive on a good dirt road east of Goblin Valley. It has fantastic petroglyphs, although some of them have been defaced. The “Great Gallery” measures 200-feet long and 15-feet with life-sized figures painted. My wife wasn't feeling very good that day so she and I stopped at a huge alcove and waited for our friends to return.

That sounds a lot like the road into Hans Flat ranger station. Probably parallel. I need to check it out.

The junction of the road leading to Horseshoe Canyon and the Flint trail is at the Hans Flat Ranger Station. Going north at the ranger station will take you along the Orange Cliffs on the east and the various drainages that feed into Horseshoe Canyon and Horseshoe Canyon itself. You can also go north from there all the way to Green River if you have the fuel.

I always wanted to come into Hans flats from Green River, but have not been able to the road on the Green River side.

My bad Ben - the road that gets from Hans Flat up to Green River is numbered 1010 on maps and forks off north a couple of miles before you get to the ranger station. It goes around Spur Wash and the tributaries of Horseshoe Canyon.

That's a lot of water for Horseshoe! With that dark sky, it almost looks like an IR shot.

The road from Green River is the one to the airport (stay left instead of going right to the airport). It's the one I've been taking to Labyrinth Canyon WA. As far as I've gone, it's suitable for passenger vehicles.
