Huntington Beach with Ryan

Ryan went and put out a last minute call for a meet up at Huntington Beach last week. It's a cool feature that hopefully more people will use in the future as it's always fun to connect and shoot with others.

Anyway... Ryan posted a couple of his photos, I finally got to processing one of the ones I liked from that night.

I'd be a very happy camper with that one in my stash. I like the balance to the elements of this comp - nice reflections in the wet sands, incoming wave lips and a great color show above the pier.

Very nice. I used to get down to malibu beach after school when I was a kid, now it's a two day drive :).

Sweet image. I see what you did with that pillar and Sun. Like the Crepuscular rays, (new terminology for me thanks to a fellow photog). I see you also got that pesky crooked pillar on the far right. :p

Thanks Alan, I appreciate that. It certainly ended up being a great night to go shoot. I am glad Ryan put up a Meetup Notice for this.

Ha ha.... Thanks Ryan. Yeah, I was going to fix that pillar, and in the end decided I would just leave it as is, because my backlog of photos to process is growing bigger by the day. :)

The whole shebang has great character....including the crooked pillar. Nice light, colour and textured reflections really set off the magnificent structure! :)

Thank you Martin! I am glad you liked it. I can thank Ryan for putting a call out of Photographers on the Meetup Forum for getting me to run down there.

Great looking image. If I ever get out that way, I will have to add that spot to my fishing pier portfolio. My only nit is the bit of dry sand on the bottom right, it doesn't have that glassy reflective look that the wet sand does, and it keeps catching my eye.
