Hey Fred.

This is a great combination to capture. I don't recall seeing that much Ha data surrounding those nebula areas before. Orion has gotten lost in the background signal, and I haven't seen that before. What was your integration?

Hey Fred,

It's interesting. This week I have seen 3 or 4 others posting M42 with lots of surrounding Ha signal. How interesting. I am not used to seeing it like that, but it kind of looks cool.

I am also working on this combination. My first set of data was pretty short, but am encouraged. Mine is wider than yours. I really like the detail you have produced. But I have to shoot what I have :>). I hope to add data this Friday night!

How interesting Andy! I really had no clue all of that Ha data was sitting there in the background. You guys are going to have me doing this next too.... :)

Nice images of this area. M42 is so bright that it is easy to lose all the faint dust and detail in the surroundings while trying to keep M42 from blowing out. In reality, this is a very 'busy' area of the sky astrophoto-wise, as these 2 great renditions show.
