IC4628 Prawn Nebula (an accidental target)

The last of my three targets from the other night was totally impromptu--I just went through the ASIAIR app to look for anything that would be high enough not to be blocked by my house, and far enough from the moon to not be outshone. The one I chose was an open cluster called "Trumpler 24", and since it was going to be shot in the middle of the night (while I was asleep) I only found out what I had shot when I reviewed the images in the morning--it turned out that the main subject appeared to be IC4628, the Prawn Nebula, with the cluster appearing rather inconspicuous below it. Unfortunately, since I was shooting with a one-shot colour camera (the ASI533MC-Pro) I was not able to capture the narrowband spectra that the nebula is so rich in, so instead it has the very red appearance that is more typical of a prawn.

I can't tell you how many times I have done the same thing scrolling through the ASIAir app and seeing what will be showing later in the night. And I still don't know all of the scientific names for the objects, so I will just pick out one that looks cool.

Ha - a lucky break on this. I think even in RGB this makes for a nice result, as evidenced by your image here.
