Icelandic Fall - Seljalandsfoss

Here's a bonus waterfall for this week from Iceland (this is a fall and hopefully not a "fail"). Seljalandsfoss is a very popular fall just off the ring road on the south coast of Iceland. We drove by to scout it out during the day and I didn't really want to even deal with trying to find a parking spot. We went back on the last night of our trip, hoping the clouds would break enough at sunset to capture the sun shining through the fall. Strangely enough, nobody else was there at 11pm! The mist from the falls was heavy and for the first time I enshrouded my camera in a plastic sleeve and decided on this spot behind the waterfall. I felt like there was just enough glow behind the fall to be interesting.

Any thoughts are welcome.

This is super cool Kyle! In fact of all of your Iceland waterfall shots, this might be my favorite! That glow behind the falls is really sweet.

So the key to shooting in Iceland would seem to sleep during the day and then get up and shoot all night? :)

That was actually my plan. I tried to stay on California time. Wake up mid afternoon, eat/travel/explore, shoot sunset from 10-12 pm, shoot sunrise at 3 - 4 am, head to the hotel, eat breakfast, and go to bed about 8am. Rinse and repeat!

This is sweet Kyle the falls look like a veil which of course if a common enough name for waterfalls, but this one convesy that feeling moreso.

Great colours and lighting here, Kyle and a super viewpoint. Going back to take a pic at 11.00pm seems like a great idea - at least in Iceland. The fall from this viewpoint is really impressive!
