I was thinking it was a horses ear at first with a lot of hair... maybe an older horse? :)

Awesome work here Amy, I sure love this composition and look. It really takes a moment for the mind to get itself wrapped around what it is seeing.

Thank Jim, I really enjoy how everyone sees something a little different. I loved this shot before I even took it, and knew instantly what I was to do with it (that doesn't happen too often with me).

I'm with Jim, based on your work I first thought it was a very cold horse ear, then I figured out the grass, but it still took a bit to understand the water. Great shot and B&W treatment. Is it IR?

Yes, majority of my BNW's start with an IR image, I get more contrast in whites vs blacks that way. The water was darkened down to give it more of an abstract look and simplify the scene.
