while watching the Jaguars mossy around we talked to a biologist from Houston who studies them in this area - they have created a book with photos and describe how to identify different individuals from the their face markings - I will be looking carefully at my photos trying to ID some of them here are a couple - the lower photo shows "Tusk" easily ID by his mangled ear - not sure on the other one but will work on the ID

all the Brazil shots are in the wild - we rode out board boats all along the rivers to spot birds, and cats and otters -
How interesting Marcy! For you to have been out in a boat, totally out in the wild must really add an level of excitement while out there I would imagine?

Great images here Marcy! A Jaguar is such an exotic animal! I remember reading stories as a child and there would be jaguars in them. I always had a sense of mystery around them, and here you were able to capture some! That's so awesome.
