"Josef Paul Kleihues Staircase"

Museum of Contemporary Art

Chicago, Illinois ~ USA

This staircase is inside the Museum of Contemporary Art. The museum decided to install this artwork extending down through the staircase. It seems to detract from the beautiful staircase that the architect designed. What do you think? You can find older images of the staircase without the artwork on Google Images.

Great shot Tex. This is some amazing symmetry.

I am loving the show you are giving us from the architecture workshop in Chicago. These are places I wouldn't even know to go look for.

Alan - You are right. Many of these places would be difficult to find on our own as a visitor. The image I called Walk To The Future would be extremely difficult to find. This is why I like to take workshops. It makes best use of my time, a pro photographer knows the locations, and I enjoy being with like minded people.

Hey Tex, this is really cool. The artwork you are referring to is what looks like a pole in the middle? That pole doesn't look artistic in the least if it is truly art? If that's what you are referring to, I agree that staircase would look so much more artistic itself without that.

The artwork is made of a fish net like material. It just looks so out of place. I would rather see all of the staircase.
