A lot of people here have been to The Carrizo Plain National Monument to photograph the beautiful flower displays during the spring. Have you ever wondered what it looks like from the air? Here is an aerial image I took to show the San Andreas Fault (the valley to the right of the hill in this image). I wasn't thinking about the flowers at that time. I was just looking for a great geology image to show this famous fault to my classes. The yellows are coreopsis, and the purples are phacelia. The images below the first one are ground level examples of the beautiful flowers that adorn the slopes in a super bloom year. Please add your flower images to this thread
