Today I am going to feature my favorite spring desert wildflower: California Poppy and Mexican Gold Poppy. The former typically occurs in California and the latter is typically found in Arizona.

Gorgeous natural bouquets Doug - I love the color contrasts in both of these.

I have something a bit different for a change - dry flowers. The only reason for this is that they were potted plants in front of a grocery store and under cover

Great flowers as always Douglas. I love the poppies mixed with the other flowers and that last one is like a portrait, well done.

I planted a flowering crab apple tree called prairie fire about 9 years ago and it's in full bloom.

Thanks for starting this Doug. And that's interesting about the Mexican Gold Poppy. Not sure I was aware of them, or had noticed them before. They look really cool with how they go from yellow to orange.

Copper Globe Mallow Sphaeralcea angustafolia was blooming outside of Moab. As well as primroses (Oenathera, not primula, I mean).
