A week or so ago I was organizing the space where I keep my photo gear. Tucked away in the back are my old film gear which includes my first ever SLR - a Minolta. Prior to that I had a range finder and a TLR. This Minolta system has a few lenses one of which is 70-210. Nothing fancy compared to modern lenses but I shot quite a few rolls of slide with it. Had an idea to see how this will do with the Canon R5, I found a MD to RF adapter on Amazon for $16. So why not. This lens also has a macro mode (not true 1:1 but gets you nice closeups at 210mm.

I am pretty happy with how this performs on a modern mirrorless. Shot a few images in the backyard.

This is a manual focus lens. Circa 1984. A lot more than a close up toy, the 70-210 range is pretty nice as well. And it is light. Push pull zoom.

Thanks Ben. It is nice and also in very good shape. I never bothered to sell this when I moved to digital since they wouldn't have netted much anyway. Some of the old FD lenses still command a pretty good price now that they can be adapted to any mirrorless camera
