Just Resting

A few Anhingas hanging out at Venice Area Audubon Rookery. This spring I made a couple of trips down to Venice and I would visit the Rookery to find some peace in a very stressful time. I took several shots and really liked this one for it's simplicity.

I really like this shot, but I have to ask, is the background processed like that on purpose?

By the way, I worked in Venice from about 1970 until 1979

Very nice Amy. Pushing the sky does give it a unique look. I think this could look really cool also with the sky processed normally, that's a sweet shot of the tree and the birds.

So I had to look up this Venice Rookery, because you had me scratching my head as the last time I was at Venice beach here in SoCal, I didn't recall seeing a rookery there.

Sometimes during stressful times, just sitting and photographing can be very therapeutic, other times our stress is so much that we have no energy left for the creative process in photography, and sometimes people just shut down and stop using their cameras. I am glad you were able to find stress relief and peace through your visiting a place like this and capturing it.

Yes, I did purposely process the back ground like that. I take it that your not a fan of the texture, that the reason I placed it under Digital Art.

I should of stated Venice Florida, were you in Venice Cali or Florida?

lol....Sorry, I should have put Florida, wasn't aware of a Venice California.

This is with the nature sky, not much of a sky.

No problem with the texture, I guess I did not notice the form I was in. It's appropriate for this forum. I was in Venice Ca, probably the same Venice Jim refers too.
