keflavik lighthouse

this is just a few minutes from the airport in keflavik. my flight arrived at 06:15 gmt so that meant i was actually up early enough to capture some decent light. rather than stumbling out of bed a few hours later.

So you can walk all the way out to it? I wonder how high the waves get on it in a storm?

some of the architecture reminded me of soviet architecture. concrete everything.

the waves get freakin high out there. you don't want to be there in a storm.
a lot of the lighthouses seemed to draw inspiration from soviet architecture. stark, strong lines and concrete. this one is pretty fancy, it's been painted with red stripes. they also have bright gold colored lighthouses that look similar to this. and a few that are just massive concrete towers.
