Kings Canyon Post-Storm

Wow - I like the first one - a lot. The second keeps my attention longer however - is this a light painting? The light source for the trees is from below. It's a nice result.

Well deserved post of the day, very dramatic images. I did not know Kings Canyon was open in winter.

Nice, Tim. Those parks (really sort of one combining Sequoia & Kings Canyon) get a good amount of snow and you got it here.

Thanks for the Featured Post Jim, and thanks for all the kind words!

When we arrived the General's Highway was closed, but the roads around the entrance on 180 had been plowed (there was about 4 inches of snow on the road and a foot on the side).

Alan: #2 was shot in the parking area of the visitors center so there was some good dim light coming from the buildings (and the waning gibbous moon, but it wasn't nearly as bright).
