Last Stand

This is from Minnesota from yesterday. It was one of those u-turn moments. The sun would keep popping out momentarily and lighting up that stand of trees. It's amazing the difference in the look of them between being lit by the sun and being in shadow.

As the leaves are rapidly falling off the trees, there are not many stands of trees with leaves on left in the upper half of the state.

All comments are welcome,

Jim

Looks like one good storm would clean off what's left in this stand. Still some nice colors to go along with the cloudy skies.

Interesting progression of leaves and color from left to right. I like the composition with the clouds providing a lot of interest as well.

Really nice! I love the mixture of colors -- they contrast without being garish. and this is a care where entering the subject works perfectly.

Very cool image, something about isolated stands and solitary trees surrounded by vastness that does it for me. Cant explain it, but there is this tree near the VLA that has fascinated me since I discovered back 2009. Traveled there this summer during monsoon specifically to shoot that tree. But well done Jim!
