Living The High Life

After shooting some wildflowers this morning, I went on down to the creek, where I saw a high lining setup. Nobody there, so I went back in the afternoon & was lucky enough to catch these guys working their core muscles. The 2nd line you see drooping in loops is their backup line.

Wow, how do they get back up after a fall? Do they just reel him in?
They use a lot of abdominal strength & the bounce of the line (ground reaction force in physics terms). Sometimes they spin around their primary line so many times I almost got motion sick watching them! Their safety lines seem to be static lines (rather than dynamic), so they really don't stretch much. When they fall, they're about a leg length from their primary line.

Wow, that's some crazy stuff! At least they have a back up line. This was a fun series you caught.
